Class Day "B15" at sea

Today is class meeting day "B15."

On the agenda for me is the following:

  • Sit in on the Global Studies core course that the entire ship "shuts down for" daily - it is held in the Student Union area of the ship with the lecture being broadcast on the closed-circuit TV system of the ship to the various satellite classrooms on the ship for those students who can't fit in the Union (Time:  0920 - 1040)
  • Teach "Cinema and National Identity" (Time:  1415 - 1530)
  • Meeting for faculty/staff who are leading trips in Vietnam and Cambodia (Time:  1800 - 1900)
  • Sea Social #6 (Time:  2100 - 2230)

Update:

I went to the trip leader meeting today and found out that I will have a single room for the hotels when I go on the three-day Cambodia trip.  The other faculty/staff on the trip are Judyie (the theater professor) and Bob (one of the business professors) - both of them are the trip leaders for the trip.  Since Judyie's daughter is a student on the ship and going on the trip as well, they will room together.  Bob also got a single room assignment.  The thing that is worrisome to me is that both Judyie and Bob don't have extra passport photos with them.  We were informed we would need to bring two passport photos with us to obtain Cambodian visas when on the trip and they both seem to have no idea they needed this.  I think they are going to scramble around on the ship the next few days to get this done and one of the other professors has a photo printer with him that he is going to let them use.  I just wonder how many of the students didn't bring extra passport photos with them.  There will be 60 students total on my Cambodia trip so I'm sure that a good deal of them didn't read the details in the field trip booklet either.

We will turn back our clocks by one hour tonight which will make us 11 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time in the U.S.
